The ingredients for our banana bread are simple and you probably already have them at home. We need eggs, brown sugar, overripe bananas plus one for decoration, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, a pinch of salt and vegetable oil. This combination of ingredients will ensure that our banana bread is fluffy, tasty and moist.

Banana Bread is a great addition to breakfast, a snack or a healthier alternative to dessert.

To make our banana bread even richer, we can replace some of the plain flour with almond flour. This little trick will give the bread a softer texture and a slightly nutty flavour. We can also add chocolate chips to the dough, which will give the bread a delicious hint of chocolate. Another great addition is chopped nuts, which add a nice crunch.

Have fun baking and enjoy your meal!

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs

  • 80 g brown sugar

  • 3 overripe bananas, 1 for decoration

  • 180 g all-purpose flour (can be combined in a ratio of 1:4 or 1:3 with almond flour)

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • a pinch of salt

  • 80 ml vegetable oil

  • nuts for decoration

Postup:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Prepare a baking tin (preferably a loaf pan) – grease it and dust it with flour or use baking paper.

  2. Beat the eggs and sugar: In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the brown sugar until frothy. This step is important to make the banana bread fluffy.

  3. Mash the bananas: Mash three overripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Add them to the egg mixture and mix well.

  4. Combine the dry ingredients: In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. If desired, you can replace part of the flour with almond flour in a ratio of 1:4 or 1:3.

  5. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and gently mix until all ingredients are combined into a smooth batter.

  6. Add oil and optional ingredients: Finally, add the vegetable oil to the batter and mix thoroughly. You can also add a handful of chocolate chips or pieces of dark chocolate to the batter.

  7. Pour and decorate: Pour the finished batter into the prepared baking tin. Slice the remaining banana in half and place it on top of the batter along with the nuts for decoration. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 50 minutes. The banana bread is done when the top is golden and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool and serve: After baking, let the banana bread cool in the tin for about 10 minutes, then turn it out and let it cool completely on a wire rack. Slice and serve.
